Mrauk U which can be simply named as "the forgotten city", is incredibly beautiful and is an ancient archaeological site in Rakhine state. It served as the biggest seaport in the 16th and 17th century from the Bay of Bengal and used to be the richest Kingdom in those periods. The pagodas and temples, hewed from sandstone and some have fallen into ruins, others stand as a testament to the skills of Rakhine's architects. Many travelers are overwhelmed by masterpiece of temples. The visit to Mrauk U isn't perfect without a visit to Chin villages to meet the last living face-tattooed women of Chin tries. The ex-UN General Secretary Kofi Annan said that "Mrauk U can be seen as a mirror reflecting clearly the culture and history of Rakhine State".
